Santi Aldama
Santi Aldama starts, scores 22 points vs. Utah
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 4:59 PM
Santi Aldama finished Friday's loss to the Jazz with 22 points (8-of-15 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and four three-pointers.
Analysis: Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo decided to go with Aldama to fill in for the injured Zach Edey on Friday, and his faith was rewarded. After scoring 22 points in Sunday's win over the Trail Blazers, the 7-footer hit that number again on Friday. Aldama finished with a complete stat line, and the production may be enough to keep him in the starting lineup moving forward. Jock Landale, who filled in for Edey to begin the season, played 27 minutes off the bench. He finished with eight points, nine rebounds, one assist, one block and two three-pointers.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) scores 21 points in return Friday
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 4:56 PM
Ja Morant (calf) tallied 21 points (7-of-20 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), four rebounds, 10 assists, one block and two three-pointers in Friday's loss to the Jazz.
Analysis: Friday's game was the first for Morant since November 15, so his playing time was restricted. However, that did not prevent the point guard from showing off his elite athleticism at various points, including an impressive chasedown block of a Keyonte George layup attempt during the first half. Morant finished with his fourth double-double of the season, which helps compensate for the low field-goal percentage. Memphis is done for Week 8 and will open Week 9 on Monday against the Clippers.
Santi Aldama
MEM starts Morant, Coward, Wells, Jackson, Aldama
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 1:42 PM
NBA Lineups
Ja Morant, Cedric Coward, Jaylen Wells, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama will start Friday's game against the Jazz.
Analysis: While Morant's return from a strained calf is the most significant change to the Grizzlies' starting lineup, it isn't the only one. While Jock Landale has been the preferred choice in the past, Aldama will step in to fill the void left by the injured Zach Edey (ankle). Edey will be out for at least four weeks, so there's still time for Landale to slide into the lineup. But this decision bodes well for Aldama's fantasy value, which is capped when he comes off the bench.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) available Friday vs. Utah
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 12:26 PM
Drew Hill
Ja Morant (calf) is available for Friday's game against the Jazz.
Analysis: Morant is officially available after missing ten games with a strained calf. His return affects Vince Williams Jr. and Cam Spencer the most, with the former heading back to the bench. Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo did not reveal a minutes restriction when he announced that Morant was available. Still, fantasy managers should anticipate the point guard not taking on his usual workload on Friday.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) upgraded to probable Friday
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 7:33 AM
NBA Injury Report
Ja Morant (calf) has been upgraded to probable for Friday's matchup with the Jazz.
Analysis: Morant is on track to return from a 10-game absence, but it's unclear if he'll face any restrictions after such a long time on the sideline. His return should mean fewer minutes for Vince Williams Jr. and Cam Spencer, but both players should be held until Morant's health and usage are clarified.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) questionable Friday vs. Utah
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 12:06 PM
Memphis Grizzlies
Ja Morant (calf) is questionable for Friday's game against the Jazz.
Analysis: Morant was a full participant in Thursday's practice and did not experience any issues. If he can play on Friday, Vince Williams Jr. would head to the bench. Morant's return would also affect Cam Spencer, who has been more efficient than Williams recently.
John Konchar
John Konchar to miss time with thumb surgery
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 10:10 AM
Grizzlies PR
John Konchar will have surgery to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb.
Analysis: Konchar suffered a UCL tear in his left thumb against the Trail Blazers on December 7. The 29-year-old shooting guard is set to have surgery. A timeline for return will be provided after the procedure.
Zach Edey
Zach Edey (ankle) to miss at least four weeks
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 10:07 AM
Memphis Grizzlies
Zach Edey (ankle) will be re-evaluated in four weeks after being diagnosed with a stress reaction in his left ankle.
Analysis: Edey underwent surgery on his left ankle in June, which makes Thursday's announcement especially concerning. The Grizzlies expect the 7-foot-4 center to make a full recovery, and they'll take an “offloading and rehabilitation” approach before re-evaluating him in four weeks. Jock Landale began the season as the starting center and should return to that role, making him a worthwhile addition in deeper leagues. There should also be more minutes available to Santi Aldama, but Landale should be the primary target of fantasy managers.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) practices in full, may play Friday
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 9:12 AM
Damichael Cole
Ja Morant (calf) was a full participant in practice on Thursday and could play on Friday against the Jazz.
Analysis: Morant has missed 10 games with a calf injury after playing only six minutes on November 15th against the Cavaliers. It now seems like we have a good chance of seeing him back on the court on Friday. In his stead, Vince Williams Jr. has taken over the starting point guard role and had performed well before slowing of late. Cam Spencer has also begun to earn more minutes at Williams' expense over the last week, but both players should see their minutes and usage take a hit when Morant returns.
Santi Aldama
Aldama drops 22 points in win over Trail Blazers
Sun, Dec 7, 2025, 2:43 PM
Santi Aldama erupted for a game-high 22 points (7-of-11 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist and two steals over 28 minutes, leading the Grizzlies to a 119-96 blowout win over the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Aldama spearheaded an impressive effort from the Memphis reserves in this one as the Grizzlies got a staggering 69 bench point, including double-digit performances from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jock Landale and Cam Spencer, to power the club to their seventh win over their last nine games. Aldama's unexpected offensive surge helped make up for the absence of scoring machine Ja Morant, who sat this one out with a lingering calf injury. The Grizzlies have just one game next week when they face the Jazz on Friday night.
Zach Edey
Edey records double-double in win over Trail Blazers
Sun, Dec 7, 2025, 2:40 PM
Zach Edey amassed 12 points (5-of-11 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), 10 rebounds and three assists across 21 minutes in Sunday's win over the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Edey snapped out of his recent cold spell by recording his fifth double-double of the season, pulling down 10 boards in just 21 minutes before fouling out with just over six minutes left in a lopsided affair against the struggling Trail Blazers. The 23-year-old center is averaging 13.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.9 blocks through 11 games this season. He's performing at a near-elite level for fantasy purposes when he's on the floor.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) downgraded to out Sunday vs. POR
Sun, Dec 7, 2025, 11:14 AM
Memphis Grizzlies
Ja Morant (calf) is out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Initially doubtful for Sunday's game, Morant is officially inactive. Vince Williams Jr. will continue to replace him in the starting lineup, with Cam Spencer playing additional minutes off the bench. While Williams is a solid option for managers needing assists, his low percentages have opened the door for Spencer to emerge as a solid deep-league option.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) doubtful Sunday vs. Portland
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 12:08 PM
Memphis Grizzlies
Ja Morant (calf) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: While the doubtful tag suggests that Morant won't play on Sunday, the upgrade is a step in the right direction. Vince Williams Jr. will continue to start as long as Ja is unavailable, with Cam Spencer picking up additional minutes off the bench.
Zach Edey
Zach Edey has 10 points, eight boards vs. Clippers
Fri, Dec 5, 2025, 5:21 PM
Zach Edey added 10 points (4-of-8 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks on Friday in the win over the Clippers.
Analysis: Edey's night was unspectacular from a fantasy basketball perspective. He didn't dominate in any singular category, but was solid enough across the board to finish with mediocre production. He played 29 minutes in the game, battled on both ends, and ultimately finished as the Grizzlies' leader in blocks in the win. They'll play Sunday against the Trail Blazers, where fantasy managers will hope for more production out of Edey.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) ruled out Friday vs. LA Clippers
Thu, Dec 4, 2025, 12:57 PM
NBA Injury Report
Ja Morant (calf) is out for Friday's game against the Clippers.
Analysis: While Morant participated in portions of Thursday's practice, he still has not reached the point where he can play in games. Vince Williams Jr. will continue to fill the void as the starting point guard, with Cam Spencer having added value in deep leagues despite coming off the bench.
Ja Morant
Ja Morant (calf) practiced on Thursday
Thu, Dec 4, 2025, 9:26 AM
Michael Wallace
Ja Morant (calf) “participated in parts of Thursday's practice” and is now considered day-to-day.
Analysis: Morant has been out for two weeks since suffering his calf strain, but appears to be inching closer to returning. There's a chance that he could return to play against the Clippers on Friday or the Blazers on Sunday. His return would push Vince Williams Jr. back to the bench and could impact some of Zach Edey's recent uptick in usage.
Zach Edey
Zach Edey puts up 19/15 double-double vs. Spurs
Tue, Dec 2, 2025, 5:36 PM
Zach Edey recorded a double-double on Tuesday with 19 points (8-of-12 FGs), 15 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block against the Spurs.
Analysis: Edey has been on quite the tear in recent weeks. Over the last five games that Edey has completed, he is averaging 17.8 points, 16.2 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. It took Edey a few games to get adjusted after missing the start of the year, but he's been one of the most dominant players in fantasy basketball recently. Some of the matchups have been more favorable, but he has been able to take advantage. At this point, he's looking like one of the steals of the year.
Jock Landale
Jock Landale (ankle) available Tuesday vs. SAS
Tue, Dec 2, 2025, 1:06 PM
Memphis Grizzlies
Jock Landale (ankle) is available for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
Analysis: Landale is good to go after initially being questionable with a sore left ankle. He will occupy his usual role as Zach Edey's backup, which is not a good spot to derive fantasy value from.
Jock Landale
Jock Landale (ankle) questionable Tuesday vs. SAS
Mon, Dec 1, 2025, 12:06 PM
Memphis Grizzlies
Jock Landale (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
Analysis: Landale is dealing with a sore left ankle. While his potential absence would not significantly impact fantasy basketball, it would leave the Grizzlies down an option in the post. His minutes would likely be absorbed by the players currently in the rotation, most notably Santi Aldama. Aldama should already be rostered in most 14-team leagues and some 12-team formats as well.
Zach Edey
Zach Edey dominates Kings, goes for 32 and 17
Sun, Nov 30, 2025, 5:36 PM
Zach Edey finished Sunday's win over the Kings with 32 points (16-of-20 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), 17 rebounds and five blocked shots.
Analysis: Not having Domantas Sabonis available put the Kings in a tough spot when defending Edey. The second-year center was able to go wherever he wanted offensively, shooting 80 percent from the field with most of his makes coming in the restricted area. Add in the rebounds and blocked shots, and this was a great end to Week 6 for managers who have Edey rostered. Since making his season debut, the 7-foot-4 center has provided third-round value in nine-cat formats. The Grizzlies play three games in Week 7, starting with the Spurs on Tuesday.
